SUSTAINABILITY

At Black Milk we are continuously striving to reduce the environmental impact of our productions and take a responsibility for promoting greener sets.

PROTECTING LOCAL COMMUNITIES AND ECOSYSTEMS

One of our policies is to contribute a percentage of each production we work on towards local community organisations that promotes the conservation of our ecosystem.

REDUCING WASTE AND PROMOTING REUSABILITY

When shooting in London we use Quantum Waste, who collect all waste and compost or recycle at least 90% of it.

We promote recycling on set and ask set designers to ensure all set elements are returned or recycled where possible.

LEAD BY EXAMPLE

We recognise the enormity of the climate emergency facing the planet. We continue to learn how best we can reduce the amount of waste produced by our work and speak with organisations to advise us how best to improve our sustainability to set a precedent in the industry.

CATERING

We aim to reduce meat consumption on set and ask caterers to offer at least 50% vegetarian menus. Any leftover catering is donated to organisations tackling homelessness and hunger. We work with groups like Trussell Trust and City Harvest to achieve this.

WATER

We do not provide plastic water bottles on set and encourage everyone to bring their own reusable bottles. We also supply our own metal bottles and charcoal filtered tap water on all shoots.

RENEWABLE POWER

Our office electricity is sourced from a renewable energy supplier. We also ask studios and locations we work with to run on renewable energy.
